Refined dental technology is arriving at the speed
of light. Everyday there is something new to make dentistry better,
more comfortable for the patient and interactive so that you might
be a part of your own dental treatment. This kind of thinking was
unheard of just a few years ago. Whatever the dentist decided was
best for you---thats what you had done. No longer is that the
case! Now with intraoral cameras, choices for whitening your teeth,
Valley Dental Arts Master Diagnostic Models ®, and a variety
of technologies for every dental situation, you can be a part in
the decision making for your dental treatment. The dental laboratory
we work with invests heavily in new technologies and research. We
stay on the leading edge of technology with continued education and
training.

Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is a pen-sized camera that fits easily into your mouth.
Once positioned, it sends a picture to a monitor, where your teeth and
gums appear in a full-color, greatly magnified image. The patient sees
exactly what the dentist sees! When he tells you that there is a crack
in a tooth or the beginning of a cavity youll know exactly what
the dentist is talking about.
Faster Curing Light
A faster curing light is used to bond tooth-colored restorations quickly
and easily. A conditioning gel is placed on your tooth to prepare it for
bonding. Then bonding cement is placed in the tooth, and the harmless,
high-intensity curing light bonds the restoration to the tooth.
Whitening Light
Although you can find out more information on ZOOM! in the Artistic Smiles
section we feel that this is not only a whitening treatment for your teeth,
but new technology also. Dr. Urichs dental practice is a ZOOM! Center.
Read more information on ZOOM!.
How does it work? The dentist will first examine
your teeth and gums for good oral health. Next, as you relax in the chair,
our proprietary whitening gel is applied to your teeth and the revolutionary,
proprietary ZOOM! light will be positioned over your teeth to activate
the gel. As you watch TV, listen to music or nap, your teeth will lighten
to their optimum, natural whiteness in about an hour.

Master Diagnostic
Model (MDM) ®
There are so many things to communicate and understand when a doctor,
patient and laboratory work together to restore the patients dental
aesthetics and function. The patient must know exactly how his or her
smile will look and function, and understand the value of pursuing comprehensive
restorations, rather than choosing a piecemeal plan. The dentist must
know that the lab understands what the doctor has asked it to produce.
This process used to be called preplanning. Now, with Valley
Dental Arts Master Diagnostic Model ® it has literally become
master planning. By using an MDM ® in the case presentation,
the patient can see, in true-to-life color, just how smile enhancing the
planned
restoration will be.
